Cortland Free Library’s Centennial Celebration

100 Years of Curiosity: The Centennial Celebration of Cortland Free Library.
Since 1925, the Cortland Free Library has stood as a beacon of knowledge, curiosity, and community spirit—its shelves quietly holding the dreams and secrets of a century. Now, after 100 years of sparking imaginations and turning pages, it’s time to celebrate a legacy that helped shape the heart and mind of Cortland County.
To mark this milestone, the library is throwing a Centennial Celebration in Courthouse Park, complete with sweet treats, giveaways, hands-on activities, and special appearances by the ever-curious minds behind the library’s enduring success—including the Board of Trustees and their story-loving partners at the Dolly Parton Imagination Library.
Whether you grew up with storytime under the big windows or just found your favorite read last week, this is a chance to honor a century of community-powered knowledge. And if the skies turn gloomy? Don’t worry—the stories (and the celebration) will simply move indoors to the library itself.
Follow Cortland Free Library on Facebook and Instagram or visit their website for updates as the centennial story continues to unfold.
