Upcycling Fashion Camp

This summer, Magpie is pleased to offer five sections of very special sewing camps for our students of ALL ages! Come to the historic Cortland Corset Building to learn about the clothing history of Cortland County and learn to build some different pieces of that history! We will discuss the legacy of Amelia Bloomer, the Cortland Corset Building, and fashion/costume from the heyday of Cortland’s manufacturing boom. According to the curiosity and interest of our students, we will then choose 2 pieces of clothing history to reconstruct. Anything from our own bloomers and shirtwaists to Victorian walking skirts and gentleman’s knee pants. Camp runs from 10am-2pm each day, with pre-camp and post-camp hours available at $10/hr for those who want to add more.

Registration is $375 per student and is limited to 6 students per camp. All supplies and materials are included in the registration fee. Register at the “Get Tickets” link or by Venmo-ing @StaceyGoldyn-Moller, with payment and the memo “Historic Costume Camp”.
